Richard is a Senior Manager at Cotswold Archaeology and is based in Cambridge. He began his career with the Exeter Museums Archaeological Field Unit in 1985 and has worked in Devon, France, Norway and Egypt. From the mid 1990s his focus has been East Anglia, including roles with the Cambridge Archaeological Unit and Oxford Archaeology East. His research interests lie in Prehistory and the Early to Middle Anglo Saxon periods. He serves as Honorary President of the Fen Edge Archaeology Group, is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
